About the Role
This is a FIFO role on 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster at BarrowIsland for an oil and gas operator.
The Instrument Engineer will provide site-based instrumentation engineering support to ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of instrumented systems. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role partners with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.
Responsibilities:
Provide instrumentation engineering support to maintain safe and reliable operations.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and support effective technical solutions.
Investigate failures and implement reliability improvements.
Manage instrumentation changes and upgrades through approved processes.
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimise performance.
Provide technical expertise for instrumentation, control, and safety systems.
Support maintenance, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
Ideal Candidate Criteria:
Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience providing instrumentation engineering support in industrial, manufacturing, processing, or heavy industry environments.
Strong understanding of field instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and safety systems.
Experience with troubleshooting, fault finding, maintenance support, and equipment reliability improvement.
Familiarity with engineering standards, compliance requirements, and change management processes.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
