Heavy Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team, in both a hands on role & as a floor mechanic supervisor. This position is based in Morwell.
This role is ideal for someone confident in leading a team of workshop mechanics, while working under the Workshop Manager. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of our fleet and equipment including trucks, motor vehicles and heavy machines/equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of workshop mechanics
- Manage workflow, delegate tasks, and prioritise repairs
- Maintain and service heavy machinery/trucks, and fleet vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
- Coordinate with management and suppliers to ensure timely parts availability
- Maintain high standards of workmanship to minimise downtime and breakdowns
About You:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities
- Ability to balance supervisory duties with mechanical work
