The Role
Ventia are currently looking to engage a Groundsperson Leading Hand to join our Defence Contract. This position will see you working at RAAF Curtin in Derby WA, within a well-established maintenance team. In this role you will be responsible for the upkeep of a diverse range of built and natural park assets which include streetscapes, training grounds, verges and recreational grounds.

This position is a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 06:00am – 02:30pm (with overtime opportunities) and a 12:00pm finish on Fridays. A company vehicle will also be provided for all work-related travel.

To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Key duties, but not limited to:
•    Provide effective and efficient delivery of the land management services
•    Supervise and assist the Grounds Maintenance Team and relevant subcontractors as needed
•    Complete administration tasks including grounds service inspections, workplace inspections, chemical registers, and relevant reporting
•    Induct and train new team members
•    Ensure effective communication within the team, including the daily toolbox meetings

Requirements:
•    Current Driver’s Licence – HR highly regarded
•    Certificate II Horticulture
•    Chainsaw Ticket – Level 1 or 2
•    Agvet Chemical Users Course or similar
•    Able to Pass a Pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol screen 
•    Experience in a similar parks & gardens or landscaping role – Highly desirable
