With a growing portfolio of projects, MCM is looking for a motivated Graduate or Early Career Technical Engineer to join its Sydney-based team.
This is a varied role combining office-based engineering with hands-on site investigations. One week you could be preparing technical reports and drawings, and the next assessing bridges, wharves or other major infrastructure across Australia or the Pacific.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical experience in structural investigations, concrete durability and corrosion, with ongoing mentoring and specialist training to support your development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with technical investigations and assessments of civil and marine structures, including bridges, wharves and buildings.
- Conduct hands-on site inspections and testing to assess structural condition and performance.
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering drawings and project documentation.
- Assist with engineering calculations, analysis and technical design work.
- Work alongside experienced engineers to develop practical solutions and support project delivery.
- Support technical compliance, research, development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel to project sites across Australia and the Pacific as required.
About You:
You are a motivated and technically minded engineering graduate or early-career professional who enjoys problem-solving and is keen to develop your skills beyond a traditional office-based engineering role.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, ideally Civil or Materials, although other disciplines will be considered.
- Recent graduates and engineers with approximately 1–3 years' experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in practical engineering applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation.
- An interest in structural engineering, materials, corrosion or infrastructure rehabilitation.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel and undertake site investigations.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
Previous experience in remedial engineering or structural investigations would be advantageous, but is not essential. Graduates completing their studies in 2026 are strongly encouraged to apply.
