Grader Operator
- Operate graders safely and efficiently in a large-scale open-pit mining environment.
- Perform haul road construction and maintenance, and maintain pit floors and working areas.
- Complete pre-start checks and report equipment defects.
DRD Group is seeking experienced Grader Operators with strong production mining experience to join operations across Fortescue sites in the Pilbara. Up to $65hr based on experience.
The Role
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of graders within a large-scale open-pit mining environment, including:
- Haul road construction and maintenance
- Pit floor and working area maintenance
- Berm, windrow and drainage work
- Maintaining roads to required operating standards
- Operating safely around heavy mobile equipment
- Completing pre-starts and reporting equipment defects
- Working to site safety procedures and production requirements
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- 3+ years' grader operating experience in production mining
- Demonstrated experience operating CAT 16M, 18M and 24M graders
- Strong haul road maintenance experience
- Previous experience within large-scale iron ore operations
- Current Australian driver's license
- Grader competency/ticket such as RIIMPO324E - Conduct Civil Construction Grader Operations, or equivalent competency
- Current VOCs highly regarded
- GPS/machine guidance experience advantageous
- Autonomous mining environment experience highly regarded
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
