GP AMS - Wiluna

Conditions: Here you will be working as a solo GP with support from at least 1 RN (sometimes 2-3), an excellent reception team, Practice Manager and on-call Paramedic with the clinic hours from 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday including 1 hr for lunch. The clinic operates as a walk-in service, and you are encouraged to spend as much time as you want with the patient to provide the best possible care. Communicare software is used and whilst experience with this is desirable it is not essential. At 4:30pm the Paramedic takes over and manages all overnight and weekend emergencies. The Nurse and/or GP may be called for phone assistance or in the rare event, be required to attend the clinic to assist in guiding the emergency and arrange medical retrieval if necessary. Whilst this is uncommon, you are on-call for the duration of your stay and therefore are paid the daily rate for the entirely of your stay (including across the weekends). If you do need to attend an emergency overnight then the clinic hours can be changed the following day to manage fatigue. As for location, it is small friendly town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia. The population is approximately 350 with a mix of Indigenous and Non-Indigenous residing in the Shire. Located on the edge of the Western Desert, Wiluna is a 5.5-hour drive north of the Goldfields hub of Kalgoorlie. There is a mine site in the region, and the clinic will also do an occasional mining medical and treat miners. XRAY and Ultrasound is available at the service. Here will be housed in a 3-bedroom house that has aircon, wifi and 2 bathrooms and you will have access to a car. The house is located behind the clinic and is all fenced so if you need to attend the clinic after hours, is it easy and safe to do so.
