A leading US financial services firm is seeking an experienced payments and treasury operations professional to join its Global Payments & Treasury Operations function on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility for extension.
This opportunity supports high-volume institutional payment processing and daily cash movements, backfilling BAU activity for a senior team member who has transitioned onto a major payments automation project.
About the Opportunity
You’ll be working as part of a collaborative operations team, supporting end-to-end payment processing, settlements, reconciliation activities, and transaction investigation work across multiple systems and applications.
This role will suit someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Processes funds transfer or settlement instruction in accurate and timely manner to ensure adherence to payment cut off time and SLA.
- Escalate issues as needed. Investigates differences in cash processing and performs settlements and reconcilements.
- Monitors payment processing applications.
- Reviews and validates payments submitted through various methods (e.g., wire, account). Monitors and flags issues that arise with payment mechanisms and performs production validation.
- Researches and resolves complex transactional related inquiries.
- Adheres to and completes regulatory and compliance monitoring and reporting, as required.
- Serves as an escalation point for data processing issues and provides input on quality improvement process.
- Responsible for the quality and completion of own work and support the actional tasks assigned by senior team member or manager.
- Participates in business initiatives including new projects. Perform user acceptance testing as required.
Skills & Experience
- High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2-3 years’ experience in financial services or payment processing role preferred.
- Good communication, organizational teamwork, interpersonal skills are essential.
- Knowledge of local payments systems (ie. Austraclear), as well as SWIFT payment system preferred.
