GLAZIER required for a well-established Australian company “GSM WINDOWSNOW PTY LTD” located in RESERVOIR VIC 3073. Prospective applicants must have prior experience of working commercially as a Glazier. Duties include.
- Cutting thin glass by hand
- Processing glass by use of machines
- Manually moving glass
- Smoothing rough edges
- Assessing glass and glazing requirements
- Preparing and installing double glazing
- Assembling glass products
- Installing glass and mirrors in windows, skylights, display cases, interior walls and ceilings
- Determining type and dimensions of glass required
- Measuring and marking glass for cutting
- Loading and unloading glass in preparation for travel to clients
- Cutting along patterns and templates
- Smoothing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels
- Coating, cutting, etching, trimming, and treating glass to achieve special effects
- Identifying and implementing the work health and safety procedures required to complete tasks safely
- Using and understanding the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed to undertake all tasks and duties
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in good and safe condition
Special skills/Additional requirements
Applicants will be prioritized who ideally have
- Formal qualifications (AQF Certificate III in glass and glazing) and with 2 - 3 years of practical experience.
- Ability to caulk glass windows & doors effectively and neatly
- Capable of handling high volume window caulking with consistent quality
