Smart Apprenticeship Solutions and Squad Employment & Training are seeking a passionate and organised Field Officer to support apprentices and trainees throughout their employment journey. If you love mentoring people, building strong relationships with employers, and making a real impact in your community, this role offers purpose, variety and connection every day.

As a Field Officer, you’re the key link between apprentices, trainees, host employers and training providers. You’ll guide new employees through onboarding, monitor their training progress, support their wellbeing, and help them build successful careers. Your work directly shapes the future workforce across multiple industries.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support apprentices and trainees from onboarding through to completion, ensuring they receive the right training, support and workplace experience.
  • Build strong relationships with host employers, conducting regular site visits and providing ongoing support.
  • Mentor and coach candidates, helping them become job‑ready through resume support, interview preparation and ongoing guidance.
  • Coordinate inductions, PPE, workplace readiness and ACAP registrations.
  • Monitor training plans, address barriers, and facilitate host rotations where needed.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with input from hosts and employees.
  • Engage with schools and community groups, promoting career pathways and youth employability.
  • Ensure compliance and WHS standards are upheld, including documentation, audits and site safety reviews.
  • Support finance and administration, resolving invoicing or payment issues and maintaining accurate records.
  • Represent the organisation at events, expos, trade shows and networking activities.
