Facilities Maintenance Officer
- Maintain safe and functional environments for students, staff, and visitors.
- Coordinate facility inspections, minor repairs, and general maintenance activities.

- $70,385 per annum, plus superannuation
Are you a practical, hands-on person who enjoys solving problems and keeping buildings and facilities operating at their best?
The Facilities Maintenance Officer plays an important role in maintaining safe, functional and welcoming environments for South West TAFE’s students, staff and visitors. Based primarily at the Warrnambool Campus, you will also support other campuses when required.
Working as part of the Facilities team, you will undertake and coordinate a varied range of activities, including:
- facility and asset inspections;
- minor repairs and general building maintenance;
- campus presentation and operational support;
- contractor access and on-site coordination;
- room and event set-ups;
- stock and equipment control; and
- supporting facilities-related projects and improvement works.
This role would suit someone with practical maintenance experience, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing responsive and reliable service. You will work closely with campus teams, contractors and service providers to help ensure our facilities effectively support teaching, learning and business operations.
The must haves
Mandatory requirements
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
- Employee Victorian Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Record Check
- Forklift licence, or willingness and ability to obtain one within an agreed timeframe
Highly desirable requirements
- Relevant trade qualification, Certificate III-level qualification, or substantial facilities or asset maintenance experience
- Relevant OHS, chemical-handling or maintenance-related training
- Experience working in an education, institutional or similarly complex environment
