About Community Options Australia

Community Options Australia (COA) believes every person deserves to feel understood, supported and confident as they navigate their care journey.

Established in 1996 as a not-for-profit, COA has delivered innovative, person-centred care solutions for older people, people with disability, their families and carers for almost 30 years. Today they are a leader in aged care assessments, including the new Single Assessment System. Relationships are the cornerstone of their work, guided by values of integrity, excellence and respect, and a commitment to helping people flourish.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly created role is one of three Executive Lead appointments as COA builds a new Executive Leadership Team. Broader than a traditional technology role, it brings together ICT, systems and data, contract management, quality and compliance, complaints and safeguarding, and corporate services including facilities, brand and legal.

This is an opportunity to build the organisational backbone that will support COA’s next phase. With a largely remote workforce and a number of core systems, processes and frameworks still evolving, the role will bring greater structure and connectivity across technology, data, quality, compliance and corporate services. Working across the organisation, you will strengthen the foundations that enable teams to work effectively, improve oversight of systems and third-party providers, and embed practical frameworks that support quality, assurance and continuous improvement. As COA grows, the role will help ensure its infrastructure, systems and ways of working are scalable, well governed and genuinely enable the people delivering services.

The Candidate Profile

COA is seeking a personable, practical leader who enjoys breadth and brings order to complexity. The ideal candidate is a strong people manager, comfortable leading diverse specialist teams, partnering closely with operational leaders and rolling up their sleeves to build what doesn't yet exist.

The ideal candidate will bring significant senior leadership experience and transformation success across technology, contract management, corporate services and vendor management, ideally within a government-funded service delivery environment. Experience optimising CRM or enterprise systems (Salesforce highly regarded), data governance and reporting, privacy and cybersecurity, and quality, compliance, complaints and incident management is essential, along with qualifications in IT, information systems, business, quality management or a related discipline.

Experience in aged care will be highly regarded; however, leaders from health, disability, community services or other adjacent sectors with strong transferable experience are encouraged to apply. Most importantly, the successful candidate will share COA's values and a genuine commitment to the older people and communities they serve.

Candidates may be based anywhere along the eastern seaboard, with flexibility to travel to Sydney as required.
