About the opportunity

We are seeking a qualified, AHPRA-registered Enrolled Nurse for a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week), providing safe, high-quality clinical nursing care to a Western Australia-based client with disability-related health needs or complex care requirements. The successful candidate will work within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice, demonstrated competence and required Registered Nurse supervision arrangements.

What you will do

•  Deliver direct nursing care and appropriate clinical interventions in accordance with individualised nursing care plans, clinical instructions and accepted nursing standards.

• Undertake clinical observations, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate and blood glucose monitoring where clinically indicated and within your scope of practice; assess and monitor participants’ physical and mental health, recognise deterioration and promptly escalate concerns to the supervising Registered Nurse or relevant clinician.

•  Administer prescribed medicines and carry out authorised treatments and therapies, monitoring and reporting participants’ responses in line with applicable protocols and legislation.

•  Provide wound care, infection prevention and control, and other nursing procedures for which you are trained, competent and authorised.

•  Assist Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary colleagues to assess needs, plan, implement, coordinate, review and evaluate individualised nursing care.

•  Support participants with chronic conditions, disability-related health needs and complex care requirements through appropriate nursing interventions and ongoing monitoring.

•  Maintain timely, accurate and confidential clinical documentation, including progress notes, observations, medication administration records and incident reports.

• Promote health education, wellbeing and illness prevention by providing appropriate guidance to participants, families, carers and support staff on health management, infection prevention and healthy practices, within your professional role and demonstrated competence.

•  Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, medical practitioners, allied health professionals, disability support workers and other service providers to support continuity of care.

•  Protect participant dignity, privacy, informed choice and independence; follow NDIS obligations, clinical governance, workplace safety and organisational procedures.

•  Participate in emergency response, incident escalation, training, quality improvement and professional development activities.

About you

•  Diploma of Nursing or an equivalent qualification recognised for Enrolled Nurse registration in Australia.

•  Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through AHPRA.

•  Sound clinical nursing knowledge, including observations, medication management, care planning, infection prevention and control, and identifying changes in health status.

•  An understanding of person-centred care, professional boundaries and the needs of people living with disabilities or complex medical conditions.

•  Clear communication, sound professional judgement, strong recordkeeping and the ability to work collaboratively under Registered Nurse supervision.

•  A commitment to safe nursing practice, confidentiality, clinical competence and continuous improvement.

•  Experience in disability services, community nursing, aged care or complex health support is highly regarded.

•  Ability to meet applicable employment, nursing registration and relevant screening or clearance requirements.
