Engineering Delivery & Resource Planning Lead
PERSOL is one of Australia's largest and longest serving recruitment providers. Delivering both quality temporary and permanent options, we specialise in the recruitment of Professional, ICT, Government, STEM, Management and Executive talent.
We are seeking an experienced engineering delivery and resource planning professional to help shape and improve how a large, complex engineering function plans, resources and delivers its work.
Roster: Monday to Friday
Start date: ASAP
Duration: approx. 12 months
Pay Rate: $100.00 p/h + Super depending on experience
Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered and contacted.
The Role:
This is an opportunity to develop a more structured, forward-looking approach to engineering delivery across a diverse portfolio of programs, multiple technical disciplines and competing priorities.
Working with senior stakeholders and engineering teams, you will assess existing delivery practices, identify opportunities to improve how work flows through the organisation, and develop practical systems and processes to strengthen pipeline visibility, resource forecasting and delivery performance.
This role will suit someone who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to resource planning, capacity modelling and operational improvement.
About you:
You are a practical, analytical professional with experience improving delivery systems and planning processes across complex, multidisciplinary environments.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement an engineering delivery model focused on improving planning, workflow and delivery efficiency.
- Establish and improve systems for project pipeline management, resource forecasting and delivery reporting.
- Develop practical capacity models to assess current and future resource requirements against anticipated workloads.
- Analyse existing delivery processes across engineering disciplines, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Review how work is currently planned, prioritised, resourced and delivered, recommending more effective approaches where appropriate.
- Improve forward planning by translating available pipeline and forecast information into actionable resource and delivery plans.
- Support more proactive demand management, helping identify resource constraints and competing priorities before they affect delivery.
- Work collaboratively with engineering leaders and stakeholders to build alignment around planning processes, delivery expectations and reporting.
- Develop clear documentation, frameworks and systems that support consistent and repeatable delivery practices.
- Influence stakeholders across the organisation to embed improved ways of working and strengthen overall delivery performance.
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in resource planning, capacity modelling and demand forecasting.
- Experience developing or improving delivery models, project pipeline management systems or resource planning frameworks.
- The ability to assess existing processes and translate findings into practical, sustainable improvements.
- Experience managing competing workloads and resource demands across multiple projects, programs or technical disciplines.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret pipeline information, identify future constraints and support evidence-based decisions.
- The ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and technical teams to influence change without relying on direct reporting lines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to develop clear documentation, reporting and planning processes.
- Experience within engineering, infrastructure, utilities, resources or another complex, asset-intensive environment would be advantageous.
