Draftsperson
- Prepare accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models.

Our manufacturing client is looking for Draftsperson in Melbourne on contract basis.
Role Purpose:
To prepare accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, models and manufacturing documentation for doors, frames and wall systems.
The role supports production, project delivery and technical teams by converting customer, project and engineering requirements into clear, production-ready drawings, bills of materials and related drafting outputs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and approved drafting systems.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, models and manufacturing documentation for doors, frames and wall systems across the assigned portfolio.
- Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD and approved drafting systems to convert customer, architectural, project and engineering requirements into production-ready outputs.
- Interpret specifications, drawings and technical information to identify drafting requirements, constraints and information gaps before release to manufacture.
- Prepare and validate bills of materials, cutting lists and related production documentation based on approved drawings and manufacturing requirements.
- Apply sound drafting judgement to ensure drawings are accurate, complete, manufacturable and aligned to product, quality and process standards.
- Prepare accurate drawing outputs and related data to support CNC, press brake and other manufacturing programming requirements.
- Identify and raise technical, drawing or specification queries with relevant stakeholders, and support resolution before work proceeds.
- Work with production and quality teams to investigate drawing-related errors, resolve manufacturing issues and reduce repeat defects.
- Maintain accurate drafting records, drawing revisions and document control in line with business requirements.
- Provide practical drafting support across multiple business units or product lines, balancing accuracy, production priorities and manufacturing feasibility.
Technical skills & Knowledge:
- Strong capability in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with the ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings and models.
- Experience preparing technical drawings for doors, frames, wall systems or similar manufactured building products.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, customer specifications, engineering information and manufacturing requirements.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, fabrication methods and installation considerations.
- Ability to prepare and validate bills of materials, cutting lists, drawing revisions and production documentation.
- Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail, with the ability to identify drawing, specification or manufacturability issues before release to production.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing drafting priorities and apply sound judgement in a manufacturing environment.
- Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to resolve technical queries with production, project, engineering and quality teams.
