Our client is looking for an experienced IT Category Manager for this high-impact, hands-on permanent role within a Contracts & Procurement function. You’ll partner with senior IT stakeholders to shape category plans, lead sourcing and negotiations, and lift supplier performance and governance across IT categories. You’ll be supported by the business—but you’ll be the one driving the agenda, setting priorities and keeping momentum when competing demands hit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and gain endorsement for IT Category and sub-Category Plans with IT stakeholders, balancing cost, capability and risk.
- Provide strategic direction to Category Specialists across sub-category sourcing strategies.
- Lead sourcing, negotiations and contract implementation with strong governance, compliance and risk management.
- Influence senior internal stakeholders and suppliers to align on outcomes, timeframes and deliverables.
- Strengthen supplier performance, contract compliance and strategic relationships across the IT supply market.
- Put practical measures in place to track cost benefits/savings and supplier delivery outcomes.
- Proactively manage competing priorities and shifting requirements, keeping delivery moving.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years in IT category management / strategic procurement (end-to-end), including contract negotiation and contract management.
- Self-sufficient, resilient and comfortable working in an evolving landscape.
- Strong influencing skills across internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Able to prioritise, stay organised and drive outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
- Understanding of supply chain processes with experience in the IT supply market.
- Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business (or equivalent experience).
- MCIPS (or working towards / willing to work towards), highly regarded
