About the Business:
L.G. Solomon Pty Ltd work with small to medium sized enterprise high net worth individuals and groups with a range of tax compliance matters, including Tax and BAS Services, SMSF, Trusts, Companies, Partnerships and general business advice.
You will be joining a 3rd generation lead firm with Director David Solomon, 5 Accountants and support staff. While the practice has continued to grow through long-standing client relationships and referrals, it has maintained the supportive, approachable culture that only an independent family practice can offer. Team members enjoy interesting work and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with both colleagues and clients.
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Intermediate Accountant who is looking for a quality part-time position without compromising their professional career.
Working as part of a stable and supportive accounting team, you'll manage a varied portfolio of clients across Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and SMSFs, providing taxation compliance, financial reporting and general business support.
The role is designed for someone who wants to continue using and developing their accounting and taxation skills while enjoying greater flexibility and balance outside of work.
You'll have the opportunity to work with interesting clients, develop strong professional relationships and contribute meaningfully to the practice — without the expectation of a traditional full-time workload.
The practice is genuinely open to finding the right person and creating a working arrangement that provides the right balance between professional responsibility and personal commitments.
Your skills and experience:
- A Bachelor of Business or Commerce degree is essential.
- Currently studying toward CA/CPA qualifications OR CA/CPA Qualified will be HIGHLY REGARDED.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role is ESSENTIAL (Min 1 year).
- Experience preparing tax returns and financial statements
- Experience across Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and SMSFs
- Technical taxation knowledge
- Experience working in MYOB AE is desirable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and confidence to communicate with clients and other members of the team.
- Analytically minded with a strong attention to detail and ability to apply practical commercial thinking.
- A 'can do' attitude and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client outcomes.
- Exceptional ethics, self-motivation and sense of loyalty.
