Job Details

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Hourly rate: $43.29/hr + Super
  • Immediate start for the right person

Responsibilities & Duties
Reporting to the floor Supervisor you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying and repairing metal components used in vehicle seating systems.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions and specifications.
  • Fabricate, cut, bend, shape and assemble sheet metal and steel components used in automotive seat frame manufacturing.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, guillotines, punches, rollers, drills, saws, and other workshop machinery.
  • Perform MIG/TIG welding and finishing of seat frame components.
  • Assemble and fit seat frame structures, brackets, rails and associated components using jigs and fixtures.
  • Inspect fabricated and assembled components using measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, quality and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, safe operating practices and company policies.

Requirements

  • Trade qualification in Sheet Metal Work, Engineering Fabrication or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in sheet metal work, fabrication, welding or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret design and engineered drawings
  • Experience operating sheet metal and fabrication machinery.
  • Competent in MIG welding and general fabrication techniques.
  • Good work ethic and mechanically minded
  • Willingness to commit long-term and grow in the business
  • Physically fit with the ability to conduct manual handling duties
