Description & Requirements

An opportunity has become available for an experienced custody professional to join a globally recognised financial services organisation as an Assistant Manager, supporting its Settlements and Corporate Actions teams across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the detail, supporting their team and finding better ways of doing things. You'll work across onshore and offshore operations, help resolve complex issues and play an important role in maintaining strong service delivery to clients. This includes local custody clearing, settlements and corporate actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Settlements and Corporate Actions teams.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for operational queries and escalations.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members, helping build capability and confidence.
  • Work closely with offshore teams and internal stakeholders to maintain strong service delivery.
  • Oversee operational issues, reconciliations and controls, ensuring matters are resolved appropriately.
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation and system-related projects.
  • Support market, regulatory and client-related requirements.
  • Assist with broader team leadership and development initiatives.


About You

  • 5+ years' experience within financial services within custody, securities services or asset servicing
  • Strong experience across securities settlements and corporate actions
  • A solid understanding of Australian and/or New Zealand market operations
  • Experience working across onshore and offshore teams
  • Strong problem-solving, reconciliation and operational risk skills
  • The confidence to manage escalations and work with a range of stakeholders
  • Previous experience leading, coaching or developing team members
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a genuine interest in process improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
