Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per annum plus superannuation (depending on experience)

About the Role

Due to continued business growth and an increasing number of residential and commercial construction projects, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.

The successful applicant will undertake a broad range of carpentry duties across new construction, renovations, extensions and commercial fit-out projects while working closely with site supervisors, builders and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans and project specifications to complete carpentry work to a high standard.
  2. Measure, prepare and install timber, engineered timber and other construction materials in accordance with project requirements.
  3. Construct and install wall and roof framing, flooring systems, staircases, ceilings, partitions and structural timber components.
  4. Install doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves, cladding, cabinetry supports and other internal and external building elements.
  5. Complete fit-out and finishing carpentry for residential and commercial construction projects.
  6. Carry out repairs, alterations and refurbishment works to existing buildings as required.
  7. Ensure all carpentry work complies with the National Construction Code, Australian Standards and company quality requirements.
  8. Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  9. Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to ensure construction milestones are achieved within project timeframes.
  10. Maintain a safe and organised work environment in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
  11. Assist with material estimation, site preparation and quality inspections throughout the construction process.

Essential Requirements

  1. Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  2. At least two years of relevant full-time post-qualification experience (or equivalent).
  3. Demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
  4. Ability to accurately interpret building plans and technical drawings.
  5. Strong understanding of Australian building practices and construction methods.
  6. Excellent workmanship and attention to detail.
  7. Current White Card.
  8. Current Australian Driver Licence.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a construction team.
