About the Role

Wood Wings Pty Ltd is an Australian private company specialising in carpentry and woodworking services. Based in Meadowbrook, Queensland, the business operates across Brisbane and Logan, providing residential carpentry solutions including timber framing, doors, skirting, architraves, cabinetry, interior fit-outs, repairs, renovations and custom woodwork. We are looking for a skilled and Dedicated Carpenter to join our team and undertake residential carpentry, construction, installation, repair and renovation works while maintaining high standards of workmanship, accuracy and safety.

Key Responsibilities

1.Interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, measurements and construction requirements.

2.Cutting, shaping and joining timber and other materials using appropriate hand and power tools.

3.Selecting and preparing timber, building materials and components according to project requirements.

4.Constructing and assembling timber structures, frameworks, fittings and other carpentry components.

5.Installing doors, window frames, skirting, architraves, wall cladding and other interior and exterior fittings.

6.Constructing and installing roof and floor framing, sub-flooring and floorboards while ensuring structural accuracy.

7.Preparing and assembling timber components and wood joints for installation and finishing.

8.Measuring, marking and checking structures to ensure correct alignment, level, dimensions and workmanship.

9.Carrying out repairs, alterations and maintenance to existing timber structures, fittings and fixtures.

10. Constructing temporary timber and concrete formwork where required for building and renovation projects.

11. Working with materials including timber, laminates, perspex and metal components for specialised carpentry applications.

12. Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Skills & Experience

1.AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV

2.A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in carpentry is required for this position

3.Strong knowledge of carpentry, timber construction and general woodworking techniques.

4.Proficiency in accurately measuring, marking, cutting and shaping timber and other building materials.

5.Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy, workmanship and finish.

6.Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications and apply them accurately to carpentry work.
