About the Position
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Buyer to manage product sourcing, purchasing operations and supplier relationships across our wholesale product categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, identify and select merchandise based on market trends, customer demand and sales performance.
- Source products and negotiate purchasing prices, terms and supply arrangements with suppliers.
- Analyse sales reports, inventory levels and product performance to inform purchasing decisions.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders and coordinate stock replenishment.
- Evaluate supplier quotations, product quality and purchasing costs.
- Assist management with product pricing, promotions and merchandise range planning.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and accurate purchasing records.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with sales and warehouse teams.
- Monitor stock availability and identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma of Business or a relevant qualification in business, purchasing, procurement, retail management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in retail buying, purchasing, procurement or merchandise management.
- Strong communication, negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyse sales and inventory data.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple purchasing activities.
