Your new role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Audit Specialist to deliver two priority payroll assurance projects.
Working independently and engaging with key stakeholders, you will review historical payroll information, assess employee entitlements and clearly document any required corrections. This role is suited to someone with strong technical payroll knowledge who enjoys detailed investigative and reconciliation work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing payroll records and validating employee entitlements
- Completing Overseas Conditions of Service allowance assessments
- Undertaking a Long Service Leave audit and balance reconciliations
- Identifying and calculating payroll overpayments and underpayments
- Preparing clear working papers and individual assessment reports
- Recommending corrections and supporting payroll remediation
- Providing regular progress updates and escalating unresolved matters
- Developing procedures and templates to support future administration
- Handling sensitive payroll and employee information appropriately
What you'll need to succeed
Must be an Australian citizen with a baseline security clearance.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated payroll audit, assurance or remediation experience
- Experience within a Commonwealth or comparable complex payroll environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, employment conditions and leave provisions
- Experience reviewing allowances, entitlements and Long Service Leave balances
- Strong reconciliation, analysis and problem-solving skills
- Experience using Aurion or a comparable payroll system
- The ability to prepare accurate working papers and assessment reports
- Confidence working independently and engaging with stakeholders
