Finance Manager - Private Family Office
- Provide tax advice across a portfolio of trading and investment entities.
- Lead tax planning, compliance and year-end processes in conjunction with external advisors.

The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a private family office with a diverse portfolio of active trading businesses and investments across property, retail, technology and other sectors. Unlike many passive family offices, this group operates hands-on businesses, creating genuine demand for commercial and tax advisory support.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with decision-makers and play a trusted role in shaping tax, structuring and compliance outcomes across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tax advice across a portfolio of trading and investment entities, including structuring, distributions and inter-entity arrangements
- Lead tax planning, compliance and year-end processes in conjunction with external advisors
- Manage Division 7A compliance, inter-entity loans and shareholder transactions
- Assess tax implications of new investments, acquisitions and business initiatives
- Act as the primary internal point of contact for tax matters, liaising with advisors and the ATO
- Oversee financial reporting and compliance obligations across the group
- Maintain oversight of entity structures, governance and statutory requirements
- Provide financial and tax insights to support commercial and investment decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency, processes and controls
- Review and coordinate work completed by external bookkeepers or junior accounting support
About You
- CA or CPA qualified
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax, including Division 7A and private group structures
- Experience working with or advising complex private groups, family offices or closely held businesses
- Commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical tax matters into practical advice
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, confidential and entrepreneurial environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with senior stakeholders
