About the Role:

KG PETROLEUM PTY LTD trading as METRO PETROLEUM operates in the petroleum retail industry, providing fuel sales and related services to motorists and local customers. The Retail Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the petroleum retail outlet, ensuring efficient service station management, maintaining fuel and convenience-store stock levels, supervising staff, managing sales and operating costs, and delivering quality customer service. The role also involves monitoring business performance, coordinating supplier arrangements, maintaining workplace health and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with applicable Australian regulations and company policies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the petroleum retail outlet, ensuring efficient service delivery and compliance with established operational standards.
• Determine the appropriate range of fuel and retail products, monitor stock levels, and maintain service standards to meet customer requirements.
• Develop and implement purchasing and marketing policies, establish pricing strategies, and coordinate the procurement of fuel and retail products.
• Plan and coordinate promotional and advertising activities to increase sales of fuel and other products and services offered by the business.
• Manage the recruitment, selection, training, rostering and supervision of staff to ensure effective workforce management and smooth daily operations.
• Monitor sales performance, prepare budgets, control operating expenses, and maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions.
• Sell fuel and retail products to customers and provide information and advice regarding product features, usage and availability.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, fuel-handling procedures, environmental standards and other applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma or relevant Qualification.
• At least 1 – year of experience as a Retail Manager
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, petroleum products, fuel sales and service station management.
• Excellent staff management, leadership and team supervision skills.
• Sound understanding of inventory control, stock management and purchasing procedures.
• Proficiency in sales monitoring, budgeting, financial record-keeping and cost control.
• Strong customer service, communication and complaint-resolution skills.
