Locum Hospital Pharmacist
Katherine, NT
Pay rate: up to $85 per hour + super
- Free travel and accommodation support plus access to pool cars
- Monday to Friday, no weekends | Weekly payroll
- Rural hospital setting | Outback experience
Rural Hospital Pharmacist is required in the Northern Territory. AHPRA registered pharmacists with relevant Australian Hospital experience are encouraged to apply for this position.
Skills and experience
- Provides comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across a wide range of specialties, including Oncology, Haematology, Paediatrics, Renal, Vaccination programs, and various outpatient specialist clinics.
- Oversees dispensary operations, ensuring medication supply, PBS compliance, and effective system management.
- Delivers expert medication advice and clinical reviews, contributing to safe and effective patient care across multiple hospital wards.
- Leads and mentors a team of pharmacists and technicians, fostering professional development and operational excellence.
- Facilitates staff training and interprofessional education for nursing and medical teams to support best practices in medication use.
- Drives quality improvement initiatives through audits, safety reporting, and implementation of risk-reduction strategies.
- Represents the pharmacy in multidisciplinary forums, contributing to hospital-wide strategies and service enhancements.
