Qualships Pty Ltd is a highly specialised Marine service operators undertaking all forms of marine surveying services including cargo related vessel surveying, Internal audits, Hull and machinery repairs electrical repairs and troubleshooting, technical inspections and report writing.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Welder to join a fast growing organisation, drive change and help the organisation deliver on its strategic goals. Tasks Include:

1. Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
2. Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock
3. Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame-cutting torches and metal-cutting machines
4. Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
5. Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
6. Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
7. Examining welds for the width of bead, penetration, and precision
8. Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions
9. Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding

Requirements:

1. MUST be able to read technical drawings and specifications.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience with a high level of adaptability.
3. Ability to attain classification standard welding qualification.
4. Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Welder
5. Proficient in various welding procedures and techniques, handling different types of welding with ease.
6. Strong understanding of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in an industrial environment.
7. Current driver's license with reliable transportation.
8. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks on an ongoing basis.
9. Excellent teamwork skills.
10. OHS Construction Induction White Card (Essential).

2. Fire Sentry Training.
