About the Business
Beyond Brush Painting and Decorating Pty Ltd is a Clyde-based painting and decorating contractor established in 2024, delivering professional interior and exterior painting services across Clyde, Clyde North, the wider City of Casey, south-east Melbourne and the surrounding regions of Victoria. The business works for residential homeowners, builders, property managers, real estate agencies, strata bodies and commercial clients, and its core services cover the painting of new and existing residential and commercial buildings, full surface preparation including sanding, filling, crack repairs, pressure washing and priming, the painting of walls, ceilings, doors, trims and timber and metal surfaces, the application of protective, waterproof and specialised coatings, and repainting and maintenance programs for rental properties, strata complexes and commercial sites. Operating in one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing residential corridors, where new housing estates and building projects keep demand for quality painting consistently high, the company has grown steadily on the strength of its workmanship, its reliable scheduling and its attention to site safety and compliance with Australian standards and WHS requirements. It is led by its Director and Owner, supported by an administration officer and a crew of painters, and it values pride in a clean, even and professional finish, respect for the homes and premises it works in, and a safe and cooperative culture on every site.
About the Position
The Painter is a full-time, directly employed tradesperson who will carry out residential, commercial and strata painting projects for Beyond Brush Painting and Decorating across Clyde and south-east Melbourne, reporting to the Director and Owner. As the business has grown it has relied heavily on subcontract painters, and this new position has been created so that the company has a skilled painter of its own on site every working day, bringing consistent quality, reliable scheduling and continuity from one project to the next. The role covers the full cycle of each job, from inspecting and preparing surfaces through to applying paints and coatings and completing the finishing work to a high standard, and it carries responsibility for guiding the contractors and junior workers on site so that the company’s standard of finish is maintained on every project.
Key Responsibilities

- Set up ladders, trestles, mobile scaffolds and other access equipment, and lay drop sheets and masking to protect floors, furniture, fixtures and landscaping before work begins.

- Repair minor surface defects, fill holes, cracks and joints with filler or plaster, sand surfaces to a smooth finish, and apply sealers, undercoats and primers ready for finishing coats.
- Read job specifications and colour schedules, and measure, mix, tint and thin paints, primers and coatings to the correct colour and consistency.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, enamels and protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment to interior and exterior walls, ceilings, doors, windows, fences, roofs and timber and metal structures, including repainting work.
- Apply protective, anti-corrosive and waterproof coatings where the job requires them.
- Hang wallpaper, matching patterns and leaving joins and edges neat and secure.
- Carry out detailed cutting-in, finishing and touch-up work, inspect completed work, and rectify any imperfections, missed spots or areas needing a further coat.
- Estimate the materials, time and equipment needed for each job and complete work within the agreed timeframes.
- Clean, maintain and store brushes, rollers, spray guns, tools and equipment, and leave work areas clean and tidy at the end of each job.
- Store, handle and dispose of paints, solvents and other hazardous materials safely and in line with regulations.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, site inductions and safe working-at-heights practices, and wear the correct personal protective equipment at all times.
