The Opportunity
You will join an established, multi-venue hospitality group with a portfolio spanning restaurants, bars, and event-led venues. Finance sits close to the action, because the real story is rarely found in one neat P&L line. Revenue moves by venue, event, labour mix, menu, margin, weather (seriously) and about twenty other things that make hospitality both brilliant and chaotic.
The business is looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager who understands that venue performance is about more than reporting last month’s result. It is about getting underneath the numbers, spotting patterns early, and helping operators make better decisions while there is still time to act.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, and we are looking for someone to step into the role from Monday 21 September. As a result, we are prioritising candidates who are immediately available or can start on short notice.
Role Profile
Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of commercial finance and performance reporting across the portfolio. Your remit will include:
- Revenue and sales analysis across multiple venues, trading periods and revenue streams.
- Venue-level P&L, profitability and performance reporting.
- Weekly trading analysis, trend identification and commentary that actually helps the business make decisions.
- Labour cost, productivity, rostering and wage efficiency analysis.
- Food and beverage margins, COGS, gross profit and stock-related performance.
- Pricing, promotions, revenue optimisation and commercial decision support.
- Budgeting, forecasting, rolling forecasts and scenario analysis.
- Business partnering with venue managers and operational stakeholders.
Successful Candidate Profile
If you like understanding what really drives a venue, spotting trends early, and helping operators make sharper decisions, this is a great contract. We are looking for someone who combines strong finance fundamentals with genuine commercial curiosity. You will bring:
- Experience within hospitality, hotels, leisure venues (bowling, arcades, Sports Clubs, RSLs etc). This is a must have.
- Strong exposure to revenue, margin and operational performance analysis.
- A practical understanding of labour, rostering, productivity, COGS, GP and venue-level profitability.
- Confidence communicating directly with operational stakeholders at all levels
- A “calm under pressure style that can provide practical advice and reasoning when it's needed most.
- You will be immediately available or have a notice period that will allow you to commence in an opportunity from the 21st September (28th at a stretch).
