Hays are partnering with a well-regarded organisation responsible for maintaining some of Melbourne's premier sporting facilities. Due to increased seasonal demand, we are seeking several experienced Cricket Curators to join their team based out of Burnley and play a key role in preparing high-quality playing surfaces for the upcoming cricket season.
Your new role
As a Cricket Curator, you will be responsible for the preparation, presentation and maintenance of cricket wickets, ovals and surrounding sports turf areas. Working as part of an experienced grounds team, you'll help ensure facilities are maintained to the highest possible standard throughout the season.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and maintaining cricket wickets and practice nets
- Rolling, mowing and marking cricket ovals
- Turf renovation, irrigation and surface management
- Operating specialised turf maintenance equipment
- Identifying and addressing turf health issues
- Supporting the delivery of quality playing surfaces for training and competition
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Cricket Curator, Turf Curator, Greenkeeper, Groundskeeper or Sports Turf Professional
- Experience preparing cricket wickets and maintaining sports turf surfaces
- Ability to operate turf maintenance machinery and equipment safely
- Strong knowledge of turf management practices
- Current driver's licence
- A strong work ethic and pride in delivering high-quality sporting facilities
