Spray Painter - Structural Steel

1. Monday to Friday 6am - 2:30pm
2. Ongoing role with potential to go permanent
3. Plenty of overtime available

Our client is an industry leader in complex steel structures and steel construction looking for an experienced Spray Painter / Painter to join their coatings team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a painter with experience in automotive or industrial spray painting who’s looking to transition into structural steel coatings. You’ll enjoy consistent full-time hours, a supportive environment, and the chance to secure a permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Prepare steel surfaces through cleaning, grinding, sanding, and blasting.
2. Apply single-pack zinc phosphate primers using airless spray pumps.
3. Apply two-pack epoxies, polyurethane, and polysiloxane coatings to high standards.
4. Use Wet Film Thickness (WFT) gauges to measure and record coating thickness.
5. Mix and handle paints using powered tools safely and accurately.

What You’ll Need

1. Experience painting structural steel using single- and two-pack epoxies.
2. Skilled with airless spray equipment and familiar with WFT gauges.
3. Knowledge of surface preparation and abrasive blasting.
4. Experience operating overhead cranes safely (preferred).
5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
6. Automotive spray painters are encouraged to apply!
