We are seeking an experienced and professional Medical Imaging Technologist to work in a part time (32 hours/fortnight) capacity (casual negotiable) based at Nhill. 

RENUMERATION:

  • Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement.
  • Estimated Annual Salary Range: $90,235.60 to $103,724.40. 

The role includes:

  • Weekdays only and no on-call or call backs.
  • Meals are provided through the catering department.
  • Accommodation is offered when on-site.
  • Travel expenses as per award conditions.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Medical Imaging Department, offers X-ray, OPG (dental x-rays), CT scans and ultrasound examinations. Our ultrasound service covers a broad range of disciplines which includes:

  • Obstetric
  • Gynaecologic
  • Musculoskeletal
  • General Ultrasound

Our imaging systems in Nhill are electronically linked to specialised radiologists based in Ballarat who supply prompt reports of all imaging results to all referrers.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Current Certificate of Registration to practice from the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia, via the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Hold a current Use Licence from Radiation Safety, Victoria issued by the Department of Health.
  • Current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry.
  • At least 4 years’ experience with experience in several examination types.

Desirable:

  • Active involvement in on-going professional development and/or involvement in the Australian Society of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy or equivalent CPD program and using the WWHS quality program.

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health directives.
  • Australian Driver’s Licence.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Perform radiographic examinations in line with professional standards,
    departmental policy and the Code of Ethics of the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
  • Support and guide undergraduate and MIT clinical practice to ensure safe, compliant radiographic care.
  • Complete examination-related clerical and statistical requirements accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain the provision of an optimal safe environment protecting patients and staff from the dangers of radiation exposure and other hazard.
