We are looking for an experienced Lead Climbing Arborist to join our team. This is an opportunity for a skilled arborist who enjoys leading a crew, delivering high-quality work and taking pride in professional tree care.
You will lead a team of 3–4 arborists and ground staff across a varied range of residential, commercial and vegetation management projects.
About the role
As a Lead Climbing Arborist, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently leading your crew on site while ensuring a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
Your role will include:
- Leading and mentoring a crew of 3–4 team members
- Planning and coordinating daily work on site
- Carrying out all aspects of modern arboriculture, including climbing, rigging, pruning and removals
- Liaising professionally with clients and ensuring their needs are met
- Operating and maintaining trucks, wood chippers, mini loaders, EWPs and other tree care equipment
- Chainsaw and small tool operation
- Crane and advanced rigging operations where required
- Site set-up, branch dragging, raking and site clean-up
- Chemical spraying as required
- Maintaining a safe, organised and professional work environment
- Taking responsibility for the quality and completion of each job
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is experienced, reliable and confident leading a team, with a genuine passion for arboriculture.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Lead Climbing Arborist
- Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent
- Strong knowledge and practical experience across modern arboricultural practices
- Working at Heights / High Risk Work Licence
- EWP certification
- Chainsaw certification
- Current First Aid certification
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- The ability to work autonomously while also being a positive team member
