About the role:

This is a unique opportunity to work directly within South Australia’s Supreme Court, offering meaningful and rewarding work that contributes to the administration of justice. As Manager, Judicial Support, you will lead a team of approximately 30 Supreme Court Associates and Judicial Assistants, ensuring the judiciary is supported by high-quality, responsive and professional services both in court and in chambers. Reporting to the Principal Registrar and Director Higher Courts, you will work closely with the Chief Justice, judicial officers, senior leaders and key stakeholders, influencing service delivery, workforce capability and future planning for the Supreme Court.

Selection Criteria:
Essential

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage a team in a changing environment, including the ability to organise workloads and workflows to meet demanding and competing priorities.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility and establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels including judicial officers.
  • Demonstrated high-level administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the in chambers and in court administrative support and associate support roles, responsibilities and functions.
  • Thorough analytical capabilities combined with sound independent judgement in the identification and resolution of complex issues in a legal environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver complex briefings and reports.
  • Legal research skills and the ability to read and understand legislation including the ability to understand and apply the respective Rules of Court.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the legislative framework of the South Australian courts, particularly the Courts Administration Authority and the Higher Courts.
  • Knowledge and experience in using Electronic Court Management System (ECMS) including entry of orders.
  • Knowledge and experience in court listing processes.

Remuneration:

ASO6 ($105,747 to $111,854 per annum plus superannuation)

Special Conditions:

  • Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act 2009.
  • Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
  • As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
