We are seeking a Wound Care Nurse to work in a part time (48 hours/fortnight) capacity based at Nhill.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • The Clinical Consultant Wound Care Nurse is responsible for maximising positive patient outcomes by implementing best practices in Skin Integrity, Pressure Injury Prevention and Management across West Wimmera Health Service.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

  • A Registered Nurse with current APHRA registration.
  • Have a post graduate qualification in Wound Management.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary health team and in collaboration with groups and individuals.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to respond to the client in a sensitive manner and adhere to issues of confidentiality.
  • Have good computer skills including the ability to develop quality reports within designated time frames.
  • Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Outlook and other databases relevant to the practice area.

Desirable: 

  • Hold, or working towards, a tertiary qualification in Wound Management.
  • Have previous experience working in Wound Care Management position or field.
  • A certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
  • Australian Driver’s Licence

KEY RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Have advanced and current clinical knowledge, skills and experience in the area of wound management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop, deliver and evaluate clinical care.
  • Have an understanding of evidenced based practice and the ability to monitor and evaluate care.
  • To provide wound management education to staff, clients, carers and the wider community.
