The Role

We are seeking a people-focused, compliance-driven Heavy Vehicle Driver Trainer & Assessor to ensure our drivers meet the highest safety and operational performance standards.

This full-time role reports directly to the Head of HSEQ, with a strong focus on assisting our Bulk Transport operations. Working closely with our operations teams and business partners, you will deliver engaging and practical training that supports compliance, operational excellence, and safe work practices across our bulk transport operations.

Based primarily from our Welshpool depots, you will play a key role in developing driver capability, supporting operational consistency, and strengthening our safety culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess, onboard and train new and existing heavy vehicle drivers.
  • Deliver engaging training programs, toolbox sessions and practical coaching.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and competency assessments.
  • Support compliance activities, audits and driver performance reviews.
  • Partner with Operations to identify training needs and improve driver capability.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, teamwork and continuous improvement across the business.

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) (WHS qualification highly regarded), with experience in training and assessing the competence of heavy vehicle operators in a variety of operational environments.
  • Current MC Licence with extensive heavy vehicle driving experience including up to triple road trains.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and industry best practice.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with a passion for developing people.
  • Sound knowledge of heavy vehicle legislation, fatigue management and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across the business.
