About the Role

DVR Engineering is seeking qualified and experienced First Class Welders to join our manufacturing team.

The successful applicants will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

Welders may be required to work across various projects involving sheet metal, plate, structural fabrication and piping, working in a production workshop environment as part of a manufacturing team.

The position requires strong practical welding and fabrication skills, attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work within required production timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Weld aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel across a range of material thicknesses.
  2. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols and technical specifications.
  3. Prepare, fit and align components prior to welding.
  4. Set up and adjust welding equipment to suit material type, thickness and welding requirements.
  5. Produce welded components and assemblies to a high standard and within required production timeframes.
  6. Apply appropriate welding techniques to control distortion and maintain dimensional accuracy.
  7. Perform general fabrication associated with the manufacture of welded components and assemblies.
  8. Use jigs and fixtures to achieve accurate and repeatable welded assemblies.
  9. Conduct quality and dimensional checks on completed work to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  10. Identify and rectify welding defects or non-conformances as required.
  11. Maintain welding equipment and keep the welding bay clean, organised and safe.
  12. Comply with workplace health and safety, quality and manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

To be eligible for the role, applicants must have:

  1. Certificate III (or above) in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or equivalent recognised welding trade qualification.
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar welding role within a workshop/manufacturing environment.
  3. Proven fabrication experience.
  4. Proficiency in the use of MIG and TIG welding systems.

Remuneration

$72,000 – $82,000 per annum + superannuation (dependent on skills and experience).
