Diesel Mechanic

3-Month Temporary Assignment | Accommodation Provided | Travel Covered

LO-GO Appointments is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a 3-month temporary assignment with a Council in Central Queensland.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified tradesperson looking for a regional contract, with self-contained accommodation provided for the duration of the assignment and travel costs covered at the commencement and completion of the placement.

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and fault diagnosis of Council’s diesel trucks, plant and machinery, ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with Council policies, procedures and workshop requirements.

To be successful, you will have:

• A trade qualification in Diesel Fitting, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanics or Mechanical Fitting, with demonstrated experience servicing and maintaining trucks, heavy plant and machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across both workshop and field environments.
• The ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and confidently use computer systems.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Sound interpersonal, communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
• A minimum C Class Queensland Driver Licence; an HR Licence is highly desirable.
• A Construction Industry White Card.
• Availability to commence at short notice would be highly regarded.
