Food Technologist (Quality Systems Specialist)
- Ensure quality systems are effective and audit-ready.
- Lead internal audits and manage the CAPA system.

For our client, a fast‑growing Australian FMCG food manufacturer producing high‑quality chilled products for major retailers, we are currently looking for a Food Technologist (Quality Systems Specialist) to join the team on permanent basis.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role ensures quality systems are effective, audit‑ready, and continuously improving.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including controlled changes to processes, specifications, and documentation
- Lead internal audits and GMP inspections, and manage the CAPA system to ensure strong root cause analysis and timely close‑out
- Support external audits, including preparation, hosting, and responses
- Manage the Approved Supplier Program, ensuring suppliers are assessed, approved, and monitored
- Investigate and close out customer complaints, identifying trends and preventing recurrence
- Partner with operations to embed practical procedures and improve compliance on the floor
About You
- Food Science/Food Technology degree
- You’ll have strong hands‑on experience with QMS, GMP and CAPA processes, ideally gained over several years in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement mindset
- Experience with systems such as Fishbowl or SafetyCulture highly regarded
- Full Australian working rights
