  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Process Control, Maintenance, Engineering and remote operational support teams to optimise plant performance.
  • Provide technical guidance to operational stakeholders and escalate significant production, safety and technical risks.
  • Ensure process changes and trials are appropriately scoped, risk assessed and managed through formal change management processes.
  • Review metallurgical analysis, reports and technical recommendations to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Oversee metallurgical accounting, sampling, data quality and plant performance analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Maintain operating standards, technical documentation, operating philosophies and response plans.
  • Provide metallurgical input into shutdown planning, plant inspections, ramp-down, ramp-up and post-shutdown performance reviews.
  • Promote strong safety leadership and ensure technical activities are conducted in accordance with site safety requirements.

Required Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience with physical separation processes will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated capability in plant troubleshooting, process optimisation, metallurgical investigations and plant trials.
  • A sound understanding of process control, metallurgical accounting, sampling and plant performance analysis.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing metallurgists and technical personnel.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into practical operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary operational and technical teams.
