Assistant Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operation of a busy hospitality venue, working closely with the Venue Manager to deliver excellent customer service, strong team performance and consistent operational standards.

This is a hands-on management opportunity for a hospitality professional with solid gaming and TAB experience.

The Role:

• Assist the Venue Manager with the day-to-day running of the venue
• Lead the team and maintain high customer service and presentation standards
• Ensure company policies and gaming, liquor and regulatory requirements are followed
• Oversee gaming and TAB operations, including cash handling and compliance
• Complete opening, closing, security and venue lock-up procedures
• Monitor labour costs, rostering and staffing requirements
• Assist with weekly stocktakes, cash reconciliations and cost control
• Support venue promotions and initiatives designed to drive sales and growth
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
• Support the Venue Manager and confidently take charge in their absence

You’ll be an experienced hospitality supervisor or Assistant Manager with a strong understanding of gaming, TAB and venue operations.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role
• Current Victorian Gaming Employee’s Licence
• TAB Cash Compliance and TAB ID25 knowledge
• Victorian Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG) certification/modules
• Current RSA
• Strong understanding of cash handling and compliance procedures
• Experience with rostering, labour control and staff management
• A confident, hands-on leadership style
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• The ability to maintain standards and make sound decisions when the Venue Manager is off-site
