Business Unit Manager

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced operational and commercial leader to oversee a portfolio of specialised engineering and service businesses based in South East Victoria. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive growth, operational performance, customer outcomes and profitability across multiple business units.

This role will suit a hands-on leader with the ability to drive new revenue streams through their own business development, as well as leading the site with full P&L responsibility. 

Duties

• Drive revenue, margin and territory growth targets
• Lead division growth strategy
• Manage full P&L performance and reporting
• Develop key customer and stakeholder relationships
• Improve operational efficiency and productivity
• Oversee machine shop and hydraulic operations
• Monitor service delivery and customer outcomes
• Coach and develop business unit leaders
• Identify new market and revenue opportunities
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning

Skills and Experience

• Experience leading industrial service operations
• Proven P&L and commercial management capability
• Ability to be the sales lead whilst managing a business unit / branch
• Strong mechanical or technical aptitude
• Background in engineering or heavy industry would be a bonus
• Experience driving business growth initiatives
• Strong leadership and people development skills
• Trade and/or tertiary qualification would be beneficial
