Support Healthier Lives Through Specialist Lymphoedema Care

Western District Health Service (WDHS) is seeking a qualified and motivated Lymphoedema Therapist to join our Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology team.

This is an Allied Health-led position within the Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Department; however, we welcome applications from appropriately qualified Allied Health Professionals, Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses who have recognised lymphoedema training and experience.

Based at our Penshurst Campus, you will deliver high-quality lymphoedema assessment, monitoring and management services through the innovative Healthy Limbs Club Program, a unique WDHS initiative supporting people living with lymphoedema and oedema-related conditions within the community.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams while contributing to service development, clinical excellence and improved health outcomes across the region. You will play an important role in helping clients maintain independence, optimise limb health and access the support services they need.

Working collaboratively with the Oedema Management Program Co-ordinator and broader healthcare team, you will contribute to the ongoing growth and success of WDHS's lymphoedema services.

What You'll Be Doing

Clinical Assessment & Management

Provide comprehensive, evidence-based assessment, monitoring and management of upper and lower limb lymphoedema and oedema-related conditions, ensuring high-quality client-centred care.

Healthy Limbs Club Program Delivery

Deliver services through the Healthy Limbs Club, a free community-based program that supports assessment, monitoring, skin health management, education and referral pathways for people living with lymphoedema and oedema-related conditions.

Person-Centred Care

Work closely with clients and their families to develop individualised treatment and management plans that support wellbeing, independence and optimal health outcomes.

Collaboration & Care Coordination

Partner with medical, nursing and allied health professionals, both within WDHS and externally, to provide coordinated, effective and holistic care.

Service Development & Quality Improvement

Support ongoing service improvement initiatives, contribute to program development activities and assist with maintaining resources, compression garment inventory and service delivery systems.

Documentation & Administration

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, statistics and documentation in accordance with professional standards, accreditation requirements and organisational policies.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from Allied Health Professionals, Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses who hold recognised lymphoedema qualifications and are eligible to practise as Lymphoedema Therapists in Australia.

While the role sits within the Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Department and is considered an Allied Health position, WDHS recognises the valuable contribution nurses make to contemporary lymphoedema management and encourages applications from suitably qualified nursing professionals.

What You Bring

Essential Requirements

• Current registration with the relevant professional body and/or AHPRA as an Allied Health Professional, Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
• Successful completion of a recognised Lymphoedema Level 1 Course (or equivalent upper and lower limb training) approved by the Australasian Lymphology Association
• Eligibility for registration on the Australasian Lymphology Association National Lymphoedema Practitioners Register
• Eligibility to practise as a Lymphoedema Therapist in Australia
• Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based lymphoedema assessment, management and care planning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organisational, documentation and time-management skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
• Current Driver's Licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Rights to work in Australia

Desirable

• Allied Health background (highly desirable)
• Applications from suitably qualified Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses with recognised lymphoedema qualifications and experience are strongly encouraged
• Experience in community health, rehabilitation, chronic disease management or outpatient services
• Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare environments
• Experience contributing to service development and quality improvement activities
