Join our team as a Teacher Librarian at St Anthony's Catholic College!

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher Librarian with tertiary qualifications and registration (or eligibility) with the Queensland College of Teachers.

In this unique role, you’ll be joining a supportive team of dedicated primary school educators who share a passion for creating a vibrant, resource-rich learning hub for every young learner. Your knowledge of contemporary information literacy and children's literature, combined with your ability to curate accessible collections and support a diverse range of young readers, will ensure that every student feels included, valued, and empowered as they explore new ideas.

In this role, you’ll spark curiosity, a deep love for reading, and a fascination with words by designing engaging library programs, introducing rich stories, and continually evaluating your collection to inspire young minds. You’ll use student engagement, reading guidance, and circulation insights to understand how children connect with books, celebrate each child's individual reading journey, and provide tailored support that helps every student thrive.

Guided by Catholic values, you’ll embrace the school’s mission, prioritise student safety and wellbeing, and help create a welcoming, supportive environment where every learner feels they belong.

Set on the tropical coast of North Queensland, Townsville blends the energy of a thriving regional city with the warmth of a welcoming community. With Magnetic Island just a short ferry ride away and the Great Barrier Reef on its doorstep, you can spend weekends exploring palm-lined beaches, vibrant markets, and lively cultural events - all while enjoying the relaxed, outdoors-focused lifestyle that makes Townsville such a rewarding place to live and work.

Townsville Catholic Education has standards of conduct for workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. Our commitment to these standards requires that we conduct working with children checks and background referencing for all staff. The organisation is fully committed to child safety and has a zero tolerance to abuse of children or adults-at-risk.
