Senior Public Accountant

A permanent full-time role within a reputable boutique firm for Senior Public Accountant and Public Accountant to manage complex tax returns and financial statements for an established accounting firm.

• Requires: CA/CPA qualification and minimum 5 years experience in public accounting, in australia.
• Salary guide: $85,000 - $100,000 per annum.
• Location: Newcastle Region, NSW.

Your normal day will involve:

• Managing and reviewing complex tax returns and financial statements for SMEs, trusts, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Overseeing BAS, IAS, FBT, and GST compliance and advising on structuring and tax minimisation strategies.
• Leading client meetings and providing tailored business advice, cash flow projections, and planning insights.
• Collaborating with directors on client strategies and internal process improvements.
• Supervising and mentoring junior and intermediate accountants, including reviewing their work.
• Keeping up to date with ATO changes and relevant legislation.
• Using software such as Xero, MYOB, HandiSoft, and Class Super.

Your leadership skills will be instrumental in mentoring junior staff, and your expertise will help drive process improvements within the firm.
