Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful
At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.
About the role
Origin’s Asset & Operations Technology team delivers and supports the technology that powers our Energy Supply & Operations business. As the Analyst – Product Delivery, you’ll be the link between the business and Technology, helping turn emerging needs into well-defined, prioritised and deliverable work. Blending business and functional analysis with product ownership, you’ll keep the backlog healthy, support day-to-day delivery and help ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
You’ll also champion AI-enabled ways of working, using AI tools to rapidly develop and refine designs, plans and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
-
Elicit, analyse and document business needs, translating them into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
-
Partner with engineers to shape solution designs, identify trade-offs and validate that delivered solutions meet business needs.
-
Help create, prioritise and maintain the portfolio backlog, while leading or contributing to stand-ups, refinement and planning sessions.
-
Track delivery progress and proactively identify risks, dependencies, effort requirements and change impacts.
-
Support the squad’s daily operational queue by helping triage issues, resolve or route tickets and turn recurring problems into backlog improvements.
What you’ll bring
-
Experience in a business analysis, functional analysis, product or delivery role, with strong requirements and documentation capability.
-
Practical experience using AI tools to develop and iterate designs, plans or delivery artefacts.
-
A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban, and DevOps principles.
-
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge.
-
Exposure to applying AI or automation tools in operational and support contexts would also be advantageous.
-
A tertiary qualification in IT, engineering, business or a related discipline, supported by strong organisation, analytical thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities.
This is a great opportunity for an early-career analyst looking to broaden their product delivery experience within a collaborative technology environment. Exposure to energy, utilities, operational technology, product operating models, portfolio delivery or BAU support would be beneficial but isn’t essential. Familiarity with tools such as Asana, Miro, Confluence, ServiceNow, AWS, Azure DevOps, Git or AI assistants—including Claude and ChatGPT—would also be advantageous.
