About the Company:

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading Australian retail organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take ownership of a complex Australia and New Zealand payroll environment. Working closely with the Head of Payroll & HRIS, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery while acting as a subject matter expert across awards, legislation and complex payroll matters.

About the Role:

  • Manage and review end-to-end payroll across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Process complex payroll matters including terminations, ETPs, redundancies, executive pays and payment remediation
  • Manage key compliance requirements including Superannuation, PAYG, Payroll Tax, STP and Workers Compensation
  • Act as the escalation point for complex payroll queries, award interpretation and compliance matters
  • Drive continuous improvement through payroll projects, system enhancements, testing and process automation

Skills and Experience:

  • Comprehensive end-to-end payroll experience within a complex or high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience with large payroll systems such as Dayforce, Chris21, SAP, PayGlobal, Workday or UKG
  • Strong Excel, reconciliation and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident, proactive and solutions-focused, with strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience processing New Zealand payroll is a benefit
