Special Class Welders – Construction
We are currently seeking experienced Special Class Welders to join our construction team, contributing to the fabrication, assembly and installation of structural steel, platework and mechanical components on a major construction project in Western Australia.
Location: Eneabba, WA
Roster: 2 weeks on, 1 week off
Travel: Company-provided bus transport to and from site via Perth Airport
Pay Rates
- Special Class Welder: $67.89 per hour + penalties
- Site Allowance: $4.00 per hour
- Tool Allowance: $3 per day
- Welding Allowance: $1.64 per hour
The Role
- Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details, specifications and relevant standards.
- Complete and pass all required welding qualifications across relevant welding processes.
- Perform welding on steel components in all positions.
- Ensure correct consumables, wire feeds, amperages and preheating are maintained in accordance with approved welding procedures.
- Undertake welding using MMAW, FCAW, MIG, SAW and advanced 6G TIG techniques.
- Weld structural steel components in the correct sequence to minimise shrinkage and distortion.
- Remove tack welds and clean and restore weld preparations where required.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and site safety throughout all construction activities.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An Australian-recognised Trade Certificate in Welding.
- A current Working Safely at Heights certificate.
- A current high-risk Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence and VOC.
- A current driver's licence.
- A nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card).
- Previous experience working on major construction projects.
- The ability to attend and successfully pass a welding test before mobilisation.
- The ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
