Due to continued business growth, we are currently seeking two experienced Painters to join our professional team.

About the Role

You will work on a variety of painting projects throughout Canberra and surrounding areas. The role includes surface preparation, interior and exterior painting, touch-ups and finishing work. You will be expected to complete work safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling and repairing imperfections
2. Apply paint, stains, varnishes and other finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment
3. Perform interior and exterior painting work
4. Mix and match paint colours when required
5. Protect floors, furniture, windows and surrounding areas before commencing work
6. Complete touch-ups and ensure a clean, professional finish
7. Follow project specifications, safety procedures and supervisor instructions
8. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
9. Keep worksites clean, organised and safe
10. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
11. Complete projects efficiently and within required timeframes

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

1. At least two years of relevant painting experience
2. Good knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques
3. Experience with residential, commercial or industrial painting
4. The ability to use brushes, rollers and spray equipment confidently
5. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
6. Good time-management and problem-solving skills
7. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. A reliable, responsible and professional attitude
9. Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual work
10. A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
11. A valid White Card
12. A current Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport

Relevant trade qualifications are preferred but not essential for candidates with solid industry experience.
