Your new company
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Support Officer to join a high-performing State Government infrastructure team. Supporting a fast-paced and collaborative business unit, you will provide a broad range of administrative, financial and operational support services that contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects across Western Australia.
This is an initial 3-month temporary assignment commencing mid-August 2026, with the potential for extension.

Your new role

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the business unit
  • Process accounts, purchase requisitions and purchasing activities
  • Monitor and action shared mailboxes, escalating and delegating enquiries as required
  • Coordinate building maintenance requests and assist with access card administration
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on administrative, finance, HR and IT-related processes
  • Coordinate travel bookings and accommodation arrangements
  • Maintain records including asset registers and car parking allocations
  • Assist with reviewing and updating business processes, procedures and documentation
  • Undertake research, investigations and administrative project work as directed
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, government agencies, contractors and suppliers

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a business support, administration or office coordination role
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving, research and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working within a State Government environment
  • Exposure to purchasing, procurement or finance administration processes
  • Experience with government financial systems, policies or procedures
