GARDENER– Staff Accommodation

Join our team and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the gardens across Hamilton Island’s staff accommodation precincts. As part of the Staff Accommodation team, you’ll help create clean, green and welcoming living environments that support a positive island lifestyle for our team members.

Your Role

As a Gardener, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day horticultural care of staff accommodation gardens and common areas. You’ll contribute to ongoing landscape improvements and assist in new projects, ensuring a high standard of presentation while supporting a comfortable living environment for staff.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Maintain gardens, lawns and landscaped areas within staff accommodation precincts
  • Undertake landscaping and landscape construction projects
  • Conduct routine inspections and follow up on maintenance issues
  • Implement pest management and plant nutrition programs
  • Safely operate landscaping equipment in line with WHS procedures
  • Work closely with internal teams to plan and deliver garden projects
  • Respond to staff requests and contribute to a positive living environment

What we’re looking for

You enjoy working outdoors and take pride in creating well-maintained, attractive environments. You’re proactive, reliable, and enjoy being part of a team that supports others.

To be successful, you will need

  • Previous experience in a similar role (essential)
  • Manual driver’s licence (essential)
  • Certificate I or II in Horticulture (preferred)
  • Chemical handling experience (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high standards
  • Good level of physical fitness
